Why Unicorns Shop at Kroger and Moms Should Too

Last month open-carry advocates and Mom's Demand Action went head to head over 2nd Amendment rights in Kroger stores. The result was a bullying campaign to force Kroger to condemn open-carry rights and ban guns in its grocery stories or face a boycott until it complies with the Bloomberg Mom's demands.

Unlike other major chains targeted by similar tactics, this one decided to send a strong message to its critics: Kroger focuses on groceries not legislation.

"Our long-standing policy on this issue is to follow state and local laws and to ask customers to be respectful of others while shopping," Kroger said in a statement. "We know that our customers are passionate on both sides of this issue, and we trust them to be responsible in our stores."
American businesses should not be held hostage to the 2nd Amendment debate. Which is precisely why Unicorns choose to shop at Kroger. Until we see state legislators in session in the frozen food aisle, we refuse to let Mom's Demand Action make Kroger a scapegoat and influence the decision on where to purchase groceries.

However, with Shannon Watts, the leader of the Nazi-like Mom's Demand Action group, backed by millions from former NY Mayor Michael Bloomberg, deciding that Kroger's response was unsatisfactory and moving the boycott campaign to the next level, it will be interesting to see the grocery chain's next move.
