When Infamy Looks Good - Welcome to Twitter Ms. Lewinsky!

Monica Lewinsky has joined Twitter, and in less than 24 hours she has over 56K followers. After the account creation - excellent avi by the way - she spoke at the Forbe's Under 30 Summit. This was the opportune time to reveal her activist platform against cyber bullying.

After all, she should know a thing or two about being trolled on the Internet. But does she know that actions have consequences? Perhaps not since she blames the loss of her perceived, good reputation on the Internet and cyber bullying.

Reputation is an integral part of one’s personal and public identity, she said, calling what happened to her a form of identity theft: “I believe my story can help — help to do something to change the culture of humiliation we inhabit and that inhabits us.”

Let's face it - we live in a technological society where no open thought expressed or action taken is 100% free of scrutiny. Nothing Ms. Lewinsky does will erase cyberbullying. But what she can do is make more people aware that actions, especially ones posted on Facebook or uploaded to the Cloud, with potential consequences.  Monica, Bill, and Hillary are the only ones to blame for a soiled reputation.
