PSA - Do Not Dial 911 When a Chicken Crosses the Road

Much like unicorns, chickens have been stereotyped, and the results have led to some crazy behavior in Hipsterville, USA. Just last Monday a chicken was simply minding its own business and casually crossing the road in Portland, OR. However, one hipster was so disturbed from the incident that he dialed 911 to report the poultry crime, but by the time responding police had arrived, the chicken was nowhere in sight.

The Portland Police Bureau issued a statement after this incident, outlining how citizens should treat similar poultry infractions.
While "chicken crossing road" jokes have been told for more than a century, animals in the roadway creating traffic hazards are no laughing matter. If you see animals (or people) in or near the roadway potentially causing a traffic hazard, please call the Police Non-Emergency line at (503) 823-3333.
